

On Thursday, the company blamed a computing error for giving new recruits the wrong contracts. Foxconn confirmed the violence was related to concerns some new workers had over their pay. One video shot near the factory buildings shows more than a dozen police officers and men in white protective suits surrounding and repeatedly punching a man and beating him with batons. Video caught the sounds of workers breaking down barriers on Tuesday at the Foxconn factory, where more than 200,000 people have been under strict quarantine controls for weeks. Workers at the world's biggest iPhone assembly plant clashed with the police this week after protests erupted over pay and strict COVID-19 lockdowns.
